Apparently, by what that article goes into, Nintendo doesn't hold any rights to GoldenEye at all anymore and threatended Activision into opting out their support. And it wasn't even all of Nintendo, just their @$*$#@#@ boss Iwata. I really have no love for that guy at all now. They actually had support from some of the other guys in the Nintendo fold it seems. He turned down the chance to have this game ported onto the VC, as well as pretty much all of Rare's other games, because he doesn't w...

Looks like a decent mouse, but after picking up a Logitech G7 back in the day, I will never go back to a wired mouse. More of these companies have to start making wireless versions of their gaming mice. Once the cord is gone, it is just so easy to move, you can angle your hand and mouse any which way you want, it's wonderful. Came with two batteries too so power is never a problem. Though could have used a few more side buttons (the G7 I mean, not the sidewinder). It would be nice to see micr...

Yeah, I picked up one of these at futureshop at least a month and a half, maybe two months ago. And I know they have been available since launch at the website for red octane (cost too much there though, and shipping kills). Seems odd they are only "launching" these now when they have been available for months. Anyways, all it is is a battery shaped like two double AAs that fits into the slot. You can't charge it while playing, the battery must go in a special charger. For what they...

From what I've been able to read over the last few months, it seems like Microsoft and Rare got permission from both MGM and Activision (current Bond game license holder) to release this game. The problem is between Nintendo and Microsoft at this point. It was either Nintendo wants a bigger chunk of the profit or they just plain don't want one of their games (even if they technically didn't make it) out on a competitor's system, plane and simple, no matter what the gain for them might be. I f...

I find it very odd that Microsoft let Rare work on this remake, spend the manpower and the hours remaking the game, only for Nintendo to step in and put the kibosh on it. It just seems really odd to me. They must be working on some way to get it released without Nintendo's authority, since it is obvious nintendo doesn't want this to come out on a competitor's system at all.

In the days of cheap 1 and 2 gigabyte memory cards (like SD) that sell for around 10-20 dollars, and with much larger cards available at decent prices (I've seen 4 gig cards go for like 30-40 dollars), Microsoft continues to gouge the consumer with overpriced, small, proprietary pieces of crap that only hold like 256-512 megs of ram (I own one of the 64 meg cards, which where released when 512 was standard.

It just looks so, beautiful. Don't tease us.

I have a feeling it will still be an XBLA game, but maybe, just maybe, they will raise the filesize limit. 150 megs is not a lot to work with these days. I mean, really, who in their right minds goes out and buys an Arcade model console if they plan on downloading a bunch of games. That is the irony in that SKU's name. It comes with a bunch of Arcade games, but you have no room to save much more. With memory cards, like SD cards, costing 10-20 dollars for 1 or 2 gigs of memory these days, and...

I'm really sure the bond franchise part is fine with every other company. Activision doesn't mind at all (they hold the current license to make Bond games), MGM is all go for it (the studio that owns Bond), Rare is a go (made the original game), and Microsoft is a go, the weak link was Nintendo (the original publisher). I've seen studios and developers jump to other companies before (like iD with quake and doom, having Activision distribute the older versions of their games even though GT int...

I remember seeing this before, although I don't think it truly is running on an Atari 2600 and/or emulator. I remember someone hacking the graphics on the NES version to make it look like it was made for the atari, but it was still running on nes hardware/emulator. Kinda funny.

It is too bad it was HD-DVD that was the one to go. Finished standard (unlike blue-ray), cheaper players, and the option of 51 gig disks that would have worked in all players. Really, it was the better format. Had Blue-Ray been finished and standardized up release, then I would back that format. Oh well.

It all really depends. How long is this new version, what new features does it have, etc... etc... Plus, you also have to consider that Capcom does not need to pay for retail packaging whatsoever and no retail markup either (just the fees to Microsoft and Sony), so that takes a huge chunk of change out the equation. I think $15 USD could be fair if the game really warrants it. If I end up beating it in like 3 hours I won't be too happy at all with my purchase. If I end up putting 6-8 hours in...

Hopefully the successor to the Wii will have some power to it. I mean, cheap is nice and all but the Wii is not that much cheaper then the 360.

Only one time did Nintendo have the most powerful console out at it's time, and that was the N64. But even then, the PSOne still had the edge on it in some areas (CD storage space and polygon pushing power, though companies were able to push the N64 past the Playstation later on. I think it was that Indiana Jones game that really manage...

It is actually quite amazing how the competition between different hardware manufacturers has changed in the last 20 years. Now, we only have 3 big names out there: Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo. Last generation, we had Sega in there for a little while too. Before that, they had 8 different competitors playing the game. Does anybody even really remember any of them besides the Playstation and N64? Saturn died out fairly early on too. Even the generation before had more then just the SNES and G...

This game has some great predecessors (well, Red Alert 2 anyway, Red Alert 1 is just good in my book), hopefully it can live up to them. Stay fast, keep lots of units, lots of variety, and this can be a fun game.

I think the PC for this kind of game is going to be the platform of choice. That's a now brainer for stratedgy games. I tried a few on the platforms from back in the day on PSOne, N64, all the way to the 360 with the latest C&C 3, and the PC has always been more in...

Now this makes my day. I hope the game comes out sooner then later. Red Alert 2 is by far one of my favorite games ever. I hope they keep the massive amounts of units and variety of it's predessesor. Awesome EA, awesome.

Hmmm, no. 720p will work fine via component. Assuming you have a newer model with HDMI already, there is no real reason to use it other then to eliminate cables in that back of your TV. If you have a free VGA port on your TV, VGA should be considered since it allows you to up convert DVD movies to HD resolutions. Not a big deal really. Some TVs also produce better images via VGA, some produce worse. But in your case, I wouldn't spend money on this adaptor.

You probably won't notice anything much in difference. The original analog VGA picture, that will be converted to HDMI digital, is the best that the picture will ever look. Once you start converting back and forth, the image quality will start to degrade. How much, however, is another question. Your TV may do better images with HDMI then with VGA, so even the conversion process might be worth it. Depends on a lot of factors. However, in general, constantly converting back and forth between fo...

The 360 can output 1080p via componenent, to that there is no doubt. However, many television sets cannot accept 1080p via component, only VGA/DVI/HDMI work. Heck, even some older 1080p sets cannot accept any 1080p signals from any source. The screen may be 1080p, but everything has to be converted first. Weird eh?

However, the only way to get 1080p out of HD-DVD movies is via a VGA or HDMI cable (you can still get 720p and 1080i though via component). Also, these are the only ...
